About Team Kolohe
Started in March of 2004, Team Kolohe is committed to expanding and progressing as a team in every aspect possible. We bring a high energy and fun attitude to the game yet play our fullest every time we step on the field.
Kolohe is a Hawaiian word which means mischievous or troublemaker. Two of our team members were raised in Hawaii on the island of Maui. We chose this name for its meaning, Hawaiian roots and it is the name of a very cool dog we know.
In 2005 we reach established ourselves as on of the premier Southern California teams. With 2 squads we finished 10th and 12th over in the XPSL regional series and in our first NPPL ever placed 21 of over 65 teams. We also debuted our young guns and beginner teams, who quickly climbed up the ranks on the local scene.
In 2006 we competed in 4 of 5 NPPL events placing 15th overall and placed top 4 in local events. Our young guns team also reached new heights placing 2nd twice and 4th place in 3 appearances in national events and was ranked 6th overall in the regional XPSL series. Our beginner team moved up to rookie and in their last appearance of the season placed 8th out of 60+ teams in the XPSL Vegas finale.
During 2006 we felt some growing pains but still managed to establish our own Private NPPL regulation field, remained very competitive and continued to grow. In 2007 we plan to refine our immense talent and compete in as many NPPL and XPSL events possible.
Our goal is to provide the pastime that is paintball to children of all ages, allowing them to remain focused on a team sport to keep them in shape, off the streets and involved in an organizational program.
Team Objectives:
- To enter as many local, regional and national tournaments as possible in 2007.
- To expand our roster to 30+ players with 4 divisions: Intermediate, Rookie, Beginner and Young Guns
- To maintain our reputation as a solid team with good ethics and a strong ability to compete.
- To grow our private field into fully functional facility to help raise funding for the team.
- To be diverse. By playing as many teams as we can outside of the tournament arena and to play as many fields as we can, so that we are not too comfortable at our home field.
- Continue to support our sponsors and through these efforts attract and work with others in the Industry.
- To help the sport of paintball grow both in numbers and quality.
